This project is funded and hosted by the University of Technology Sydney whose campuses were built on the custodial lands of the Gadigal and Guring-gai peoples. We recognise the Gadigal and Guring-gai peoples as the rightful custodians of these lands and pay our respects to Elders past and present. Further, we acknowledge the many lands upon which study participants live and work. We also acknowledge the need to consult and privilege Indigenous voices and knowledge within research we undertake on these lands.
We recognise the actions and complicity of universities and other public institutions in this land’s ongoing history of colonisation. As researchers of health and wellbeing, we recognise integral connections between the rights for health, education, land, and self-determination.
